I'm relatively new to the game - only started working with containers about two years ago. Started proselytizing shortly after.

Gave a few talks at my local Meetup. Was able to speak at some conferences (both local developer focused and national judiciary focused ones).

I only just made a switch to a company that actually sees, and is investing in, the benefit of containers and orchestrators like Kubernetes.

The coolest thing I've seen, though, is computer science and networking college courses starting to containerize their labs. When I spoke at a local conference, one of the women in my workshop was the computer science department chairperson for the university we were at. We spoke about our experiences spinning up VM's for things like DVWA and how it would work so much better if one could spin up containers and jump straight into the lab. From what I hear, their department is looking into containerizing all of their labs so their students can spend more time immersing themselves in the course topics rather than always tinkering and playing sysadmin.

I have noticed that people in university are getting closer to this thematic as well. There is now a lecture about containers and related topics in the university I graduated. And people are starting using as well on their projects and side projects already in university. This is a big difference compared to when I started uni years ago and I have never heard of the topic until almost the year I left it.
