Great advice. I like this idea of doing less. I like to apply minimalism to my portfolio. Look at it from the reader's/viewer's point of view – they are in a hurry and have many portfolios to look at. They won't want to wade through many complex projects. It would be easier for them to just glance at 1-3 simple, engaging, quality, relevant pieces of work. Same with code – less code, but very carefully written and well structured is probably easier on the reader.
