Hotfix:
Lightweight Solution Load can be found not at
Tools > Options > General > Lightweight Solution Load
but at
Tools > Options > Projects and Solutions > General > Lightweight Solution Load

Great post, lots of interesting stuff! It is worth noting that Live Unit Testing only works on Visual Studio 2017 Enterprise.
