How to Cancel AppleCare?

AppleCare+ is an extended warranty and technical support service for Apple devices. It includes a one-year limited warranty and 90 days of telephone support.

To purchase the coverage, customers can choose from two payment options: a subscription-based Monthly Plan or a Single-Pay Plan for two years. AppleCare+ is an added layer of protection beyond the standard warranty and is designed to provide peace of mind for Apple customers.

If you have subscribed to an AppleCare+ Plan or AppleCare Protection Plan but no longer need it or are planning to sell your Apple device, you may be able to withdraw it and receive a refund for a portion or the full amount, depending on the plan's duration.

How To Cancel AppleCare+ Subscription On Mac?

Follow the below steps to cancel your AppleCare+ subscription on Mac:

  1. Open the App Store on your Mac.
  2. Click the sign-in button and enter your username and password, or click the photo (your name) at the bottom of the sidebar.
  3. Click View Information at the top of the window and sign in again if needed.
  4. Scroll to the Subscriptions section.
  5. Tap Manage and then click Edit next to the AppleCare subscription.
  6. Select Cancel Subscription.

How To Cancel the AppleCare Subscription On Your iPhone Or iPad?

If you are willing to cancel your AppleCare+ subscription on your iPhone or iPad as well, all you need to do is go through the following steps:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap on your Apple ID profile at the top.
  3. Select Subscriptions from the next screen.
  4. View your active subscriptions and select the one you wish to cancel.
  5. Tap the Cancel Subscription option.

If you want to cancel your subscription, you will need to scroll through the screen to locate the 'Cancel Subscription' option. If there is no such option, or you have received an expiration message, it means that your plan has already expired.

How to Cancel AppleCare Upfront Payment?

Before contacting Apple to cancel your AppleCare and request a refund, make sure you have the following items ready:

  1. The AppleCare agreement number.

  2. The serial number of your MacBook Pro (open ‘About this Mac’)

Step 1: Go to the Apple Support page, select 'Hardware Coverage' under Apps and Services, and then click ‘Other Hardware Coverage Topics.'

Step 2: On the following page, select 'Cancel or request a refund for an AppleCare plan.'

Step 3: After logging in, click the ‘Continue’ button beneath the ‘See your support options’ section on the following page. You will then be presented with all of the available support options.

Step 4: Once connected to an Apple Support representative, inform them you want to cancel your AppleCare plan.

The refund policy related to this method can be confusing to understand. It depends on when the purchase was made and if any claims have been submitted.

You may be eligible for a full refund if you purchased your service within the last 30 days and have not made any claims. However, the service cost will be deducted from your refund if you have made claims.

If you cancel your AppleCare plan within 30 days of purchase, you will be refunded a pro-rata amount based on the percentage of unexpired coverage that you have left, minus any service costs associated with any claims.

How to Cancel Monthly or Annual Payments and get a refund?

Step 1: Log in to the Apple ID used to purchase AppleCare, then open the App Store.

Step 3: Scroll down to the Subscriptions list and select ‘Manage.’

Step 4: Find AppleCare, then click ‘Edit’ and finally ‘Cancel Subscription.’

    If you are selling your MacBook Pro and it still has active AppleCare coverage, there is no need to cancel it. Instead, you can transfer the remaining coverage to the new owner.
    To do this, you need to provide the new owner with the serial number of your MacBook Pro. They can then go to the Apple Support website and complete the AppleCare Transfer process.
