He kept on exceling at work until an itch to do an MBA got him into one of the premier MBA colleges in the country – Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIML). After passing out of IIML, Satyajit joined Deloitte as a Management Consultant. Thereafter, one role led to another, one job to another, one country to another. Satyajit worked in some of the most marquee names in the industry such as Deloitte, KPMG, Jio, Novartis and Accenture in India and abroad in leadership roles.

A journey of personal transformation

Satyajit’s life has been straight out of a textbook. Study well, get into a good college, get into a good company, work hard, get ahead – this is how his life was cruising along. Then in April 2021, everything changed.

In April 2021, Satyajit, who was staying in Mumbai at that time, came for a vacation to his hometown in Bhubaneswar. It was the second-wave of Covid. Little did Satyajit know what was waiting for him round the corners. In April 2021, first his mother got covid and was admitted in a hospital. While she was recovering, she had a cardiac arrest and passed away all of a sudden. This was followed by covid gripping his entire family – Father, Wife, 8-year-old daughter and himself. Satyajit in particular had a severe infection which led to further complications such as fungus, virus, bacteria and it went on for more than 6 months. Under these circumstances, he also had to quit his high-paying corporate job as he didn’t wish to move out of Bhubaneswar under these conditions. Usually, one setback is enough to put anyone out of track for life and yet Satyajit was facing three setbacks in life, all at the same time – losing a loved one, battling life-threatening health issues and vacuum of no job and income. He was literally in dark trenches.

Satyajit realized that perhaps it’s a signal from God that he will have to find his way out himself. Armed with this new powerful thought, Satyajit decided that it is his second chance at life and he wanted to do things differently.

What followed is a personal transformation journey. He started exploring many things such as writing, youtube, public speaking, best career mentoring, start-up, painting, writing in social media etc. In Feb 2022, his first book Work, Workmanship & Winning was published and it instantly became a best-seller on Amazon. Interestingly, his book was a best-seller in a category called workplace which is often dominated by foreign authors. His public speaking career also took off as he was invited in many esteemed platforms such as Tedx, Corporates such as TCS, Nestle, Academic Institutes such as IIMs, Narsee Monjee, KJ Somaiya, SIBM etc. His posts in social media also started getting traction with some of his posts getting more than millions of engagements. In this period, he also mentored 1000s of working professionals and students to unlock their true potential and guided many start-ups based on his experiences in Strategy, Investments & Funding.

Currently, as a best selling author, he has signed a book deal with one of the top publishers in India, runs a youtube channel, shares information about work, workplace and career on linkedin and instagram, mentors working professionals and start-ups. He has been featured in many print and online media, the leading ones include Moneycontrol, The pioneer, 92.7 BigFM.

If you ask him about his success, he just smiles and tells “If I have a best-selling book, then I am still to write many more. If my posts get million+ views, there are many which get views in 1000s and if I have spoken at eminent platforms, there are many platforms I aspire to be part of. If I have impact 1000s of working professionals to discover their true potential, then there are millions out there whom I want to reach out to. These contrasts remind me that success is not the outcome; it is a journey and it is always on-going”
