Windows has horrible and not flexible UI:

  1. I can't change the locale by capslock.
  2. I can't scroll tabs by mouse.
  3. I can't use the middle button on a mouse for the second copy/paste buffer.
  4. Still can't change the workspace to a specific one without AutoHotkey script.
  5. UI even from MS inconsistent, you can see Win32, W7 and W10 windows together.
  6. I can't find a normal terminal with competition performance and strange bugs around codepages and Japanese Windows (yes, some Windows versions has a big difference under the hood).

Technical problem:

  1. FS and IO substem much slower than Linux (you can check phoronix.com/)
  2. IO for WSL it's horrible! For some tasks not acceptable even for dev environment.
  3. ... here all glitches and bsods and malware.

  1. not something I ever used...
  2. Never done things this way either
  3. I'm old, I guess I only use middle mouse for scrolling.
  4. That is a little annoying, I usually never have more than three going so I don't mind using ctrl+win left or right arrow.
  5. On Linux, there is GTK2, GTK3, QT, and a couple others.. same thing to me.
  6. The new Windows Terminal is pretty good. Hoping it becomes the default someday.

Technical

  1. don't really notice this, but I have pretty good hardware.
  2. WSL2 is much better
  3. I have never had a bsod on windows.. never had an issue with maleware.. I have had a couple of glitches, but i've been an insider since windows came out, so I'm not sure it's because I'm using advanced builds or it's an actual true stable release thing.
