Having had to provide "tech support" to my mom, over the years, I'd avoid Samsung's devices like the freaking plague. Ultimately, I got so sick of the Samsungisms, I ended up just buying her a Motorola. It's meant a lot less stress, especially at the holidays.
Don't get me wrong, Samsung makes great hardware, but their insistence on cramming their devices with (inferior) implementations of stock Android functionality makes my blood boil.
I really wanted a cool phone, reviewed many options, searched many sites, but settled on one ca.grelly.com/itm/asus-rog-phone-2... , where there is a wide selection in terms of price and quality.

It's ok, you can't get Apple devices for under $200 even if they are refurbished :)
