I stumbled upon this gem recently on LinkedIn. The photographer’s neighborhood fueling station is scheduled to be closed on April 14, for a software upgrade. (Shared with permission)
I don’t know how much money this store makes on an average day, but no doubt, this is an expensive upgrade!
Now I wouldn’t necissarily expect a corner gas station to have their POS (or whatever other system) upgraded automatically via continuous deployment. But in 2022, I can’t think of any legitimate reason that a place of business should need to close for a software upgrade.
