I had to think about my own path.
BASIC -> assembly -> PASCAL -> C -> C++ -> Java -> Visual Basic -> COM (not a language) -> SQL -> Python -> Javascript -> Perl -> bash -> PL/SQL -> C#.dot net -> VB.dot net -> JS.dot net -> more C# -> lua -> Clojure -> Racket
I think I missed some and COM is not a language but it was a moment where I really thought about function pointers and how binaries were put together at runtime. So I included it. Ha.
