Building Small Community in SMA Negeri 1 Wonoayu

Well, to be honest, I quite suck at English and Writting

Let me introduce my self, You can call me Rengga. Just got graduated from SMA Negeri 1 Wonoayu. COVID-19 is not allowed me to hold a graduation party so I got bored and soooo lonely.

I have been Chief Technology Officer for 2,5 years in Students council. So many stories behind there, I was not expecting I can go through all these difficulties.

I found out GitHub Education. Just get excited and trying to apply it! and BOOM! So many free services I can use. I can't tell much about how I use the benefit from GitHub Education because too many features that I use for teams projects.

Background Story

SMA Negeri 1 Wonoayu, A Junior Highschool in Sidoarjo, Indonesia. Where I go to school. In my school, I Joined the STudents Council and accidentally be the CTO their :D. The challenger in SMA Negeri 1 Wonoayu is lack of Information that Students Council provided. So I and my friends in the same department change ourself to provide any information that students need daily.

Projects

My first project in OSISMPKSMANIWA (SMA Negeri 1 Wonoayu Students Council) is creating a website that provides information about student council itself. Just a simple website that manually edited from the code editor. So many struggles I got, from find cheapest web hosting and domains for free. But, we keep iterate and iterate also design thinking OwO.

After we finish the simple websites, we go to the automation of administration. How? Just using simple google forms and excel, students go to the forms and submit their application or feedback and my department process their request and forward to respective departments. So simple yo? Yeah, but it's helped much and we know the principle of Source of Truth.

For some time, I tried to code administration app myself and accidentally create a board page (a simple blog for myself tbh :) ). The blog is pretty nice to have for Students council and we could update daily data and information about the competition, school limited information even we opened the blog for the public so any students can upload their own content to the blog.

After that incidents, My teams craft a Voting System for election. TOO MUCH FUN AT CRAFTING THAT SYSTEM and we got suck :(. Dropped off the project and abandoned. Yeah, every project not meant to be finished.

Community

After 1 year, I create an unofficial community called "Students Creative Hub". A community that aims unregular students to craft something nice and great for the community. I gather students that have some skill in IT, Art and Music. We create a Visual Novel Game. We don't know about programming and something similar. After months of struggle, We finished the game and played by ourself. Not trying to publish the game due to our commitment to just have fun for private area. Little disappointed but already have fun with them.

End Of Line

In 3rd year of my school life, I got to suck and leave my department and going to study for the university entrance exam (SBMPTN 2020). Leaving all of my teams and projects. I enjoy myself as CTO in my student's council. I knew new peoples, technologies, create projects and many fun things.

Now, I got graduated in my high school and got a University, Hope the small community that I have created with my friends will stay exist and well developed.

Ciao, Thanks for spending your time with me.
