I code because I love coding.

My very first experience coding was when I was 17 in a electronic technical course, with an HP 11c calculator, the scientific version of the eternal 12c, still in the market today.

Then, I was fascinated with the possibility of solving those complex number matrices of electrical circuits analysis which took two sheets of paper and a lot of time in a matter of seconds.

After programming the sequence of steps. You just need to push the variables into the stack, press run and after a few seconds... Voilà! Magically the answer was there.

Then, the first time I sit in front a computer, I knew for sure that was I want to do to make a living.

Since, I worked with a plethora of languages and tools, (Lotus 123, dBase, Clipper, C, C++, Excel, Access, Visual Basic, Pascal, Delphi, R, lots of SQL's, and now JavaScript / MERN Stack)

But I'm always feel as a newbie. It seems that every time I'm mastering something, the tech trend changes and I need to throw almost everything in the trash and restart again.

But the adventure continues and I never give up. Every time I learn a new way to solve a problem, I feel the same satisfaction.

That's why, 31 years after that, I'm still spending almost half of my day coding. Because I love this thing. ;)

I started coding seriously (about 2-3 years ago) because of two reasons

  • Anki was inflexible and hard enough to use, while Anki shared decks is indeed a large repertoire of database
  • I had some basics of programming (in C) like 10 years ago, and I heard about Python from my professor like 5 years ago
  • I want to hack into Japanese characters (Kanji) and language learning.

So I started in Python, and some NLTK.

But, later on, it morphs to Flask, then web dev in TypeScript and Vue. I also had some interest in Kotlin / Android dev.

I am doctor by profession, BTW, and I am trying to apply for health informatics Master Degree.

To me, programming is about solving problems smartly. I even wondered if I should program or use a ready-made program, and try to apply it better.

Instead of Blogger or WordPress, I used Nuxt. Not even sure if it is better.

But seriously, if I had to recommend someone, I would say, because writing a script might be better suited for the case. However, programming does have multiple layers, simplistically Front and Back; but more deeply also something like database, security and server...

I started coding because I wanted to develop a system for creating Ultima-Style RPGs back in 1984. Was 6-7 at the time. It was Basic on some form of IBM PC.

From that point there was never any question about my career path!
