I think there's room for debate there -- one of the big selling points for using GitHub auth is consistency, after all.
I have noticed that pinned repo cards in the profile don't update if the description or star count changes, which is something I'd definitely have expected to stay current.
I find it handy to have one place to update profile pic which then updates a bunch of other places. You could add it as an option - maybe a checkbox for auto update profile pic from github
We auto pull profile images when you first create your account, and not any time after.
My opinion is that it'd be a bit intrusive if we auto-updated profile images, too.

I think we have a chron job that does update the repos every now and then, but I might be wrong. Agreed that those should stay up to date though.
