Andrés Osante

Hi there, my name is Andrés Osante and I'm a beginner developer from Costa Rica. I am kind of in the middle of a dilemma since I both like Javascript and Java a lot. The web dev path seems to me as appealing as the Java development path. But I'm still too much of a beginner to know.

By now, I've done a couple of web apps where I register, modify, delete, search for, and list user data using a bit of Javascript for form validation, and a free MongoDB database for storage. Other than that, I've done some landing pages trying to implement things I learned in the @wesbos JavaScript 30 courses. I've also learned a lot from places like Codecademy, Pluralsight, and FreeCodeCamp, but I've made the classic mistake of spending my time learning and learning, and not doing enough. I plan to change that soon and I am currently making a list of projects to do by the end of September.

In Java, I'm currently writing small programs to really grasp the concept of object oriented programming. I first started doing simple stuff with simple core programming concepts, but now I have moved on to implementing other concepts such as inheritance, polymorphism, overriding and overloading etc.

I came across dev.to a couple of months ago browsing around for knowledge, and thought it may help in that aspect. I was right.

Lastly, my favorite weekend activity is surfing. Waves are beautiful here in CR, and there's some all year long.
