Just had the craziest week - needed ₱5,000 ASAP and learned a thing or two about loans

Last week, I suddenly needed ₱5,000 because my phone got damaged and I had to get it fixed for work. I know it's not a lot, but I was already living paycheck to paycheck, and I just didn't have the extra cash. I tried applying for a loan from one of those online lenders, but they rejected me because of my credit score. I was worried, stressed, and frustrated all at the same time - I didn't know what to do.

I started searching online for other options, and that's when I stumbled upon this article about the BSP rate pause - https://www.creditkaagapay.com/blog/bsp-rate-pause-what-it-means-for-borrowers-in-the-philippines/. I found this while searching online, and it led me to https://www.creditkaagapay.com/, which seems like a great resource for comparing loan options.

Apparently, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) decided to keep the interest rate at 6.50%, which means loan interest rates from banks are likely to remain stable for now. This is good news for people like me who are planning to borrow money, but it's not like it solved my immediate problem. I still needed that ₱5,000, and I needed it fast.

I ended up borrowing from a friend, but it got me thinking - what if I needed a bigger amount, like ₱10,000 or even ₱20,000? I wouldn't be able to borrow that from friends or family, and I'd have to rely on loans. That's when I realized how important it is to have a good credit score. I mean, I knew it was important, but I didn't realize just how much it could affect my ability to get a loan.

I'm relieved that I was able to get the money I needed, but it was a stressful experience. I'm going to make sure to work on my credit score from now on, so I can get better loan options in the future. I just wish I had known about all this stuff before - it would've saved me a lot of worry and stress.

Just sharing in case this helps someone - don't be like me, and make sure to check your credit score before applying for a loan. And if you need to borrow money, try to compare options from different lenders to find the best deal. I learned my lesson the hard way, but hopefully, you won't have to.
