Do you think Microsoft will make future Windows versions POSIX compliant a la OSX?
I'm not really sure about this. Today, Microsoft is a lot different and open to integrations and open-source work. They're definitely doing whatever they can to stay relevant. My understanding is that POSIX was for UNIX subsystems. They have even integrated a Linux terminal in Windows, which is something nobody would have imagined ten years ago. They will most likely have to rewrite the OS to be POSIX compliant because it's not something they can do with the current OS.
