I did recently career coaching with a developer who for the first time wanted to go to an leave an established company and go in an early stage startup, with a very uncetain future.
He wanted to do it but was afraid of the risk.
I told him that the risk was for the startup, not really for him personally.
It's like you are a very good panist with a nice grand piano, and a bastard came in and destroys your piano.
That sucks, you liked your piano, it was important.
But hey, you know what ?
In the grand scheme of things, what matters is that you still have your hands.
