Select the Minimum Values of First Cell or All Cells:
To select the minimum values from a range in Excel, do as follows.
- First, you need to select the range that you want to select the smallest values.
- On the kutools Tab, click the Select option, then choose the Select Cells with Max & Min Value option from the listed menu.
- Next, it will display the Select Cells With Max & Min Value dialog box.
- Look in – Here, you need to specify the type of cells (formulas, values, or both) that you want to search.
- Go to – In this section, you need to select the Minimum value option.
- Base – You need to check the Cell option.
- Select – Here, you need to choose the First cell (It will select first matching cells) only or the All cells (It will select all matching cells) option.
- Then, click the OK button.
- At last, you will see that all the smallest value has been selected as shown in the below image.
Steps to Select the Maximum Values of First Cell or All Cells:
If you want to select the maximum values of the first cell or all cells in the range, follow the below instructions.
- You need to select the range where you want to select the maximum values.
- Go to the kutools Tab, click the Select option, then choose the Select Cells with Max & Min Value option from the listed menu.
- Then, it will display the Select Cells With Max & Min Value dialog box.
- Look in – Here, you need to specify the type of cells (formulas, values, or both) that you want to search.
- Go to – In this section, you need to select the Maximum value option.
- Base – You need to check the Cell option.
- Select – Here, you need to choose the First cell (It will select first matching cells) only or the All cells (It will select all matching cells) option.
- Then, click the OK button. A prompt box will pop-out to tell you how many cells will be selected.
- You need to click OK to close this prompt box.
- After completing the above steps, you will see that the greatest values have been selected as shown in the below screenshot.
Select the Max/Min Values of Each Row or Column:
You can also select the maximum or minimum values of each row or column in the worksheet. To do this, follow the below steps.
- You need to select the range in the Excel worksheet.
- On the kutools Tab, click the Select option, then choose the Select Cells with Max & Min Value option from the listed menu.
- Next, it will display the Select Cells With Max & Min Value dialog box.
- Look in – Here, you need to specify the type of cells (formulas, values, or both) that you want to search.
- Go to – In this section, you need to select the Minimum value or Maximum value option (here we choose the Maximum value option).
- Base – You need to check the Entire row or Entire column option (we choose the Entire Row option).
- Select – Here, you need to choose the First cell (It will select first matching cells) only or the All cells (It will select all matching cells) option.
- Then, click the OK button. A prompt box will pop-out to tell you how many cells will be selected.
- You need to click OK to close this prompt box.
- Finally, you can see that the maximum values in each row have been selected as shown in the below image.
