Overall our project 2 has gone extremely well. Right after being assigned the assignment we met the following Saturday to plan and assign tasks. I was assigned the task of created the data flow, I used the API to give me reference to how the data flow should be structured. We aimed to have our tasks done by Monday which we all did. I felt like I did not do that much for this part of the assignment due to outside things going on but after meeting with our team lead he advised me that I did my part and that this part of the assignment was fairly simple and straight forward.
After being assigned the second part of the project, where we were tasked implementing another teams data structure, our team met right away the following Thursday night to gather questions we had regarding implementation to ask the design team as well as assign tasks. I was assigned the task of creating the test cases. Our group agreed to get all the coding done by Sunday night so I can work on the test cases Monday, another member within the group also helped me create these test cases. This part went very well overall. The design team gave us a very straight forward design document which allowed us to easily complete our implementation.
I really enjoyed the concept and real world implementation of this project. Working with a design team to create an implementation was very beneficial and taught me a lot. We were also a design team for another group which was very fun and interesting to me. We were able to work on both ends of the projecting creating our own design and implementing another. This project also reminded me to ask questions while implementing and not just make assumptions about what the design team wants. It is always good to seek clarification to ensure the design is implemented flawlessly.
