Forty-two years ago, Dennis Richie, the spiritual father of the shebang, wrote the following: The system has been changed so that if a file being executed begins with the magic characters #! , the rest of the line is understood to be the name of an interpreter for the executed file. And so, the she(ll)bang is born.
It's not the only birthday to celebrate today. Kaboom Shebang is going live and will share the 10th of January with the Unix shebang. 🎈
Under the "Kaboom Shebang" flag, I will publish articles on various web/tech subjects. The first article will go online any minute.
