PBP in politics: tools of empathy in power relations

This article explores the potential of Marshall Rosenberg's Nonviolent Communication (NVC) to transform politics. It examines historical and contemporary power mechanisms, such as the patron-client system, characterized by asymmetry and transactionality. NVC offers empathy tools based on observations, feelings, needs, and requests that can de-escalate conflicts and transform political communication. It presents practical applications of NVC, from caucus mediation to parliamentary training, and highlights the scientific basis for its effectiveness, drawing on humanistic psychology and negotiation research. The goal is to foster cooperation and recognition within power structures.
