Fixing the problem - Stop using the term UX, stop using the term UI. Merge the two as they are one in the same thing. Lets call it. "Good Design".

Why can't you have an aesthetically pleasing bottle that is easy to use (as we use some brand new material that looks premium).

This whole thing essentially is an excuse from either one side of the table or the other.

"You can't make it pretty because of this UX requirements." - You need a better designer who can work within constraints.

"You can't make this a nice user experience because this is our design" - then throw out the design, or adjust the design, basically you need a better designer who can work within constraints.

It really is that simple, the fact we are having this conversation shows that the design team and the development team need to talk more.

p.s. loved the article and the analogies used...thought I better add that! ❤🦄

THIS ⬆️

I really wanted to add in something to the article, which I came to learn recently on how most companies (even Facebook and Twitter), have stopped hiring UX Designers. Instead they have Product Designers (UI + UX Combined) and a UX Researcher, who works on the complete holistic experience of the use (more on the big picture side of things).

This means even the industry is making the shift of merging UI and UX designers. I might guess this leads to more collaboration, than some kind of assembly-line-like structure in the design process they previously had.

All pointing to how important Collaboration is 🙌

That's interesting to know! It does make sense, but interesting that FB is already heading that route!
