Real "senior devs" don't fix bugs in production

There’s a good chance you’ve seen this video, or one like it, with the title “Senior developer fixing bug in production”:

And while these jokes do make me laugh, they also make me nervious.

Real senior developers don’t fix bugs in production. Real senior developers reproduce production bugs in their test environment, then they fix the bugs there under laberatory conditions before finally deploying fixes to production.
