As someone who’s been deep in foreign trade promotion for years, I’m here to chat openly with fellow peers: How do you all tackle the headache of number verification?
Are you just like me—spent a fortune getting a stack of overseas client leads from exhibitions and platforms, only to get stuck on number verification right after?
We can slowly screen for lead accuracy later, but if we can’t even tell if a number is in use or reachable, isn’t this so-called useful resource just taking up storage space for nothing?
I’ve tried verifying one by one manually—looking up area codes for European and American numbers, checking formats for Southeast Asian ones. I can barely get through 50 a day. How can this efficiency keep up with promotion schedules? Have you all had moments of growing anxiety like this too?
What’s even more frustrating is the messy format of cross-border numbers—some with country codes, some without, and some mixed with special symbols. How on earth do you judge if they’re usable or if messages will get blocked?
Who hasn’t fallen for fake numbers? I once sent hundreds of cold emails to a batch of invalid numbers and even assigned someone to follow up, only to find out they were all empty or virtual numbers. All the costs and efforts went down the drain. Have you all made similar mistakes?
Faced with these real challenges, do you already have a mature solution, or are you still figuring it out through trial and error like me?
Do you rely on a niche but reliable verification tool, or have you summed up your own regional number verification tips?
Come share your experiences in the comments—let’s learn from each other and tackle this number verification roadblock together!
