A huge feature found in "proper" Markdown editors is the single-pane, WYSIWYG realtime rendering as found in MarkText and Typora. Nothing beats Typora because it feels just like a word processor that happens to use Markdown under the hood. MarkText behaves like Typora does in this regard. Obsidian received this functionality more recently
