How to Make Wedding Address Labels from Google Sheets (2026 Guide)

The complete guide to printing elegant wedding address labels from your Google Sheets guest list. Create beautiful, custom labels in minutes without mail merge.

Planning a wedding is stressful enough without worrying about handwriting hundreds of envelopes. If you have your guest list in Google Sheets or Excel, you can generate professional, elegant address labels in just a few clicks.

SheetsToLabels is the perfect tool for couples because it's free, no-install, and designed for bulk printing.

Why Not Use Mail Merge?
Traditional mail merge in Word is clunky, requires formatting headaches, and often wastes expensive label paper with misalignment errors.

SheetsToLabels simplifies the process:

  • Design Visually: See exactly how your labels look before printing.
  • Wedding Styles: Use elegant fonts like Dancing Script or Great Vibes directly in the browser.
  • Smart Alignment: Our PDF generation engine is calibrated for standard label sheets (like Avery 5160).

Step 1: Organize Your Guest List

Your spreadsheet is the foundation. Ensure your Google Sheet or Excel file has clear headers.

Recommended Columns:

Name: (e.g., "Mr. & Mrs. Smith", "The Jones Family")
Address: (Street address)
CityStateZip: (Can be combined or separate columns)
[!TIP] Pro Tip: Use a Google Form to collect addresses from your guests. It saves time and ensures you have the correct spelling and zip codes!

Step 2: Select a Wedding Template

Visit the Label Designer and choose a clear, versatile template.

For Guest Addressing: Choose the "Address Labels" template (compatible with Avery 5160/8160).
For Return Addresses: Choose smaller "Return Address" labels.

Step 3: Customize for Elegance

This is where you match your wedding theme.

Fonts: Click the text and change the font to a script style for a formal look, or a clean serif for a modern vibe.
Images: Upload your wedding logo or a simple floral monogram to add a personal touch.
Color: Match the text color to your wedding palette (e.g., gold, navy, or charcoal).

Step 4: Import Your Guests

Click Edit Data and select your spreadsheet.

Import from Google Sheets: Connect directly to your Drive.
Import from Excel/CSV: Upload your file instantly.
Step 4 - Manage Data

Step 5: Link Your Data

Make your labels dynamic so every guest gets their own label.

Select the "Name" text box on the canvas.
In the sidebar, check Data Binding.
Select your Name column.
Repeat for Address fields.
[!TIP] Check Long Names: Scan through your data in the preview to make sure long names (like "Mr. Christopher & Mrs. Elizabeth...") fit within the label boundaries. You can adjust the font size to "Auto-fit" if needed.

Step 6: Print Perfectly

Switch to Sheet View to see the full page layout.

Click Print PDF.
Printer Settings: Always choose "Actual Size" or "Scale: 100%". Never use "Fit to Page" as it will shrink the labels and cause misalignment.
Test Print: Print one page on plain paper first and hold it up to the light against your label sheet to verify alignment.
Step 6 - Export & Print

Creative Ideas for Wedding Labels
Clear Labels: Use transparent labels for a "printed-on-envelope" look.
Wrap-around Labels: Use long labels to wrap around the envelope edge for a modern aesthetic.
Place Cards: You can also use SheetsToLabels to print seating place cards! Just choose a cardstock template and import your guest names and table numbers.
