As an added bonus, you could host Ghost as a headless CMS for Gatsby. Everything would be served as a static site to readers. They even have docs on this approach: docs.ghost.org/api/gatsby/
Pretty awesome to hear those metrics for a $5 droplet though. Ghost engineers sure know what they're doing.

But I used ghost and DO before. Really good.
Fair enough! I really like the combination and found it cheaper than some other options out there. I believe you could also use the droplet for shared coverage with other sites you may be running.

Tried ghost a long time, themes really lack when compared to WP. I'd choose WP/Gatsby instead

I agree that one of the pitfalls (for now) is that the Ghost theme directory are limited compared to Wordpress, but I find Ghost much better in terms of ease of use.
I never supposed that Ghost can handle so much traffic only at $5 plan. This is impossible to achieve with Wordpress.
Waiting to see native comment feature in Ghost.
