Excellent article highlighting the real issues with crypto becoming commonplace. But I would almost say that crypto is currently closer to stock, in that you can buy it with money, it has some value, and you can sell it for money. Any thoughts from the community on that comparison?

Currency exchanges and stock exchanges are pretty similar mostly because there's an open market for them. But the same could be said for almost any good. Prices for staples such as corn, coffee, and oil are determined by markets just like stocks, even though some may be perishable.
