A while ago, I decided to stop waiting for the “perfect” study app and just build one myself. That project turned into Studex AI, an AI-powered studying website made for students who want a simpler way to stay organized and actually understand what they’re learning.
This post isn’t a launch announcement — it’s about what I’ve learned so far building it.
The problem I noticed
Most study tools fall into one of two categories:
Too simple (just a checklist or notes app)
Too complicated (feature overload, confusing UI)
As a student, I wanted something that:
Helps me study efficiently
Doesn’t feel overwhelming
Uses AI in a way that’s actually useful
That gap is what pushed me to start Studex AI.
Building something people might actually use
One of the hardest parts hasn’t been coding — it’s deciding what not to add.
Every feature sounds cool in theory, but if it doesn’t:
Save time
Reduce stress
Or make studying clearer
…it probably doesn’t belong.
