My Astronaut Journey: The Unfiltered Truth About Landing a Fully Remote Job

I used to think getting a fully remote job was like becoming an astronaut. Seriously.

For years, that was my dream. Working from a beach, changing countries every few months, being a digital nomad. I promised myself i'd get a fully remote job, no matter what.

My frustrating journey
That promise led to a solid year of pain.

I had a daily goal: apply to at least five companies. Every day. For a year. That’s over 1,000 applications sent into the void.

The result? Crickets. I felt completely hopeless.

It got so bad i was considering faking my resume. That's how desperate i was. And yeah, i even tried it. Guess what? It didn't change anything. Still no responses.

The big realization
Then i noticed something. Getting a hybrid or on-site job was no problem at all.

I realized many of those "junior" remote jobs weren't for juniors. Companies were looking for mid-level developers who were willing to work for a junior salary. They were just using the high demand to their advantage.

What i learned

Your resume isn't everything. Recruiters might glance at "years of experience," but what really matters is if you're confident and can actually create business value.

The job market is random. It's merciless and volatile. Spamming applications is like trying to win the lottery.

Resilience is your most important skill. I wanted to give up so many times. You just have to push through.

So where am i now?

I eventually took a hybrid job because i needed the money. On paper, i still have to go to the office. But in reality, i made it fully remote.

And the funny part? Only now, after i started building a social media presence, am i starting to get fully remote job offers on LinkedIn.

Actively applying for remote jobs is a broken strategy. I explain the other ways that actually work in my full video.

Go watch it before you send another thousand applications and start questioning all your life choices.
