To raise awareness, I will broadcast a mail on my college mailing list and post on a few discord servers, like MLH, about this initiative.

I think we can have sessions like the following: (Putting all the raw thoughts in here)

  1. Beginners to Git/GitHub session: An interactive session to help beginners install git, to make their first PR. Target audience: Absolute beginners.
  2. How to get started with {React, Node.js, bash scripting}. Target audience: beginners.
  3. basics of cryptography: Talk about AES, Bcrypt, SHA etc. various libraries, best practices, etc Target audience: beginners.
  4. What is containerization, and why do we need it: talk about docker, Containerd etc, and the technology behind it. Also, how it differs from virtual machines. basics of hypervisor, etc. Target audience: beginners/intermediate.
  5. (non technical) get some popular open source project maintainers to talk about how the project evolved. target audience: ALL
  6. Basics of different forms of server-to-server, server-to-client communication like Graphql, REST, gRPC. Target audience: beginners/intermediate

I don't personally know many public speakers, but I would be happy to help in my personal capacity. Do let me know if find something where I can contribute. 🙂
