Hello folks,
I am Vishwajit Satish Sayambar, and this is my first blog. In this blog, I will share my journey.
I hail from a small town near Ahmednagar and did my schooling at a public school in Wlalunj, Ahmednagar. After completing my 11th and 12th standard, I decided to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from Pune. While studying engineering, I faced several challenges, including failing my first semester in Chemistry and struggling to understand coding.
Struggles and Turning Points in My Journey
During my engineering course, I found coding particularly difficult, which made me doubt my abilities and decision to pursue an IT degree. Moreover, being from a middle-class family, made it even more challenging for me to keep up with my classmates. My friends in college were from the civil branch, and I started to consider switching my branch since I was having a hard time understanding the coding concepts.
However, things started to change for me during the COVID-19 pandemic when we were all forced to stay at home. During this time, I decided to learn HTML, CSS, and Python on my own, but I still struggled to keep up with my peers. I felt low as I was about to enter my final year, and my parents were hoping that I would get a job soon. However, my determination to succeed led me to learn Java, which I believed would help me get a job after completing my degree.
My friend suggested that I start studying Java, and I decided to do so in September 2021. I dedicated three months to studying Core Java, and I created notes that were easy to understand and in multiple languages, including English, Marathi, and Hindi. I was surprised by how well I understood Java and
my Notes get printed almost 10+ copies.
A Bright Light in My Journey
In November 2021, I met Ganesh Ghalame, who was my admission counselor when I started my engineering degree. He is a successful engineer with over ten years of experience, and he offered to teach me how to code. He gave me access to Udemy courses and helped me develop my final-year project on blockchain, which involved creating a healthcare management system. I faced several challenges while developing the project since there were limited resources available on the topic at that time. However, with Ganesh's guidance, I was able to complete the project successfully. Additionally, I started working on projects for ByetPhase, a company owned by Ganesh.
Understanding the Importance of Reading Documentation.
During my journey, I also realized the importance of reading documentation. When I was working on my final-year project, I had to rely on documentation since there were limited videos available on blockchain at that time. I enjoyed reading the documentation and kept up with the latest updates in the field to become a successful developer.
Finding Success Despite the Challenges
In my last semester, I received job offers from Infosys and Capgemini, which were off-campus placements. However, due to the recession, companies stopped hiring freshers, and I had to wait for my offer letter. Despite this setback, I continued to learn and develop my skills. I began studying Angular, which was a framework I learned with Ganesh, and continued visiting his home for guidance.
Growing up in a small village, I never imagined that I would become a software engineer. In fact, I didn't even know what software engineering was until I entered college. But despite the odds against me, I was able to achieve my dreams with the help of some amazing people along the way.
But then, something amazing happened. I met to Ganesh, who is a software engineer himself. He took me under his wing and showed me the ropes. He taught me everything he knew, from how to code to how to interact with clients.
With Ganesh's help, I quickly became a pro coder, and I was soon working on some of the most difficult tasks at the company. I integrated Phonepee into our system, worked on push notifications, and even developed a PWA app. And through it all, Ganesh and his wife Madhu were there to support me every step of the way.
Now, as a software engineer with over 5 months of experience, I look back on my journey with amazement. I never would have thought that I could achieve so much in such a short amount of time. But with the help of amazing people like Ganesh, anything is possible.
So if you're reading this and you feel like your dreams are impossible, just remember that there are people out there who are willing to help you. All you have to do is take that first step, and you never know where it might lead you.
As I reflect on my journey from a small village to becoming a software engineer, I realize that there have been so many people who have inspired and supported me along the way. One person who stands out, in particular, is Madhu, the wife of my mentor and boss, Ganesh.
Madhu has been a constant source of encouragement and support for me throughout my journey. Whenever I faced any difficulties or challenges, she was always there to listen and offer words of wisdom. Her unwavering belief in me and my abilities has given me the strength to keep pushing forward, even when things got tough.
It is because of Madhu's support and encouragement that I am writing this blog today. I want to share my story with others who may be facing similar challenges and struggles and to offer them hope and inspiration. Madhu has shown me that with hard work, determination, and the support of those around us, anything is possible.
As I continue my journey as a software engineer, I am grateful for the lessons I have learned and the people who have helped me along the way. I know that there will be many more challenges and obstacles to overcome, but I am confident that with the support of people like Madhu, I will be able to succeed and achieve my goals.
I will share my startup journey with you in the next blog...
