I’m Anand Tiwari, the founder of Blue Heaven Bakery
— a local bakery brand in Bhopal, India that delivers happiness through delicious cakes, flowers, and gifts. 🍰💐
In 2024, I decided to rebuild our website using OpenCart 3.0.4.0 with the Journal 3.2 theme, hosted on GoDaddy. My goal was to create a fast, mobile-friendly eCommerce experience — similar to big brands like Winni and FNP — but with our own unique branding and identity.
🧠 Tech Stack Overview
Platform: OpenCart 3.0.4.0
Theme: Journal 3.2.0-rc.105 (Demo 9 as base)
Hosting: GoDaddy (with CDN enabled for faster global loading)
Database: MySQL
Frontend: Custom HTML & CSS tweaks
SEO Optimization: Manual H1, H2, H3 updates with keywords like “Online Cake Delivery in Bhopal,” “Cake Shop in Bhopal,” and “Best Bakery in Bhopal.”
⚙️ Challenges Faced
Slow load time due to large product images — solved by enabling GoDaddy CDN + image compression.
Duplicate meta tags — fixed by setting a consistent meta title prefix and suffix.
Checkout location issue — restricted to Bhopal only for accurate delivery zone.
🚀 Results
Within a few months, the website started ranking on Google’s 4th page without paid SEO.
With planned local citations, directory listings, and manual SEO work, I’m confident it will reach Google’s 1st page within 2 months.
💡 Key Learnings
A strong eCommerce backend like OpenCart can still compete with Shopify or WooCommerce if configured well.
Manual SEO + Local Citations can outperform auto tools.
Consistency in branding (NAP, Meta, and Schema) is crucial.
