AviaGames Collaborates with UCSD MBA Students on Solitaire Clash Research Initiative

AviaGames has granted MBA students from the UCSD Rady School of Management the opportunity to conduct research on Solitaire Clash as part of the school’s Rady Action Project. Rather than a traditional classroom case study, students will analyze a live business initiative, using real data and research methods through March 2026 to explore ways the game can continue growing its audience while keeping current players engaged.

The MBA candidates will examine player trends, market competition, and long-term growth opportunities, turning their findings into strategic recommendations. AviaGames CEO Vickie Chen emphasized the value of academic insight, stating, “At Avia, we are committed to the importance of academic research to better serve our player audience.” The initiative reflects the company’s ongoing focus on thoughtful, player-centered growth.

Solitaire Clash: A Proven Leader in Its Category

Solitaire Clash has surpassed 60 million downloads and hosts more than 450 million tournaments each month. The game continues to hold a leading position in its category on both the iOS App Store and the Galaxy Store.

Built on the classic Klondike solitaire game, Solitaire Clash combines structured, skill-based tournaments with recurring in-game events such as Flower Frenzy and Puzzle Mania. Beyond gameplay, the mobile card game has also supported large-scale community initiatives. Play for Paws raised more than $220,000 for the Nevada SPCA, while Wonderland Wishes, a five-week holiday campaign supporting Foster Love, generated $136,000 in donations.

As part of the Rady Action Project, UCSD MBA students will assess Solitaire Clash’s standing in the U.S. market, review competitive dynamics, define player segments, and explore long-term expansion opportunities. Their research is expected to help inform messaging, growth planning, and continued player engagement strategies.

Real-World Strategy Experience for MBA Candidates

For students in the Rady School’s MBA program, this is more than an academic exercise. The Rady Action Project gives participants the opportunity to work directly with companies on live business initiatives.

Instead of theoretical case studies, students will engage with real performance data and active strategic questions within the skill-based real money gaming space. They’ll be tasked with delivering thoughtful, executive-level insights that could directly influence business direction.

Sandy Kenny, Executive Director of the MBA Rady Action Project, explained the value of the experience: “The Rady Action Project allows our experienced MBA students to apply executive-level thinking and communications to real business challenges while delivering meaningful value to the corporations and our students.”

The collaboration is designed to benefit both sides, providing AviaGames with structured, research-backed perspectives while giving students hands-on exposure to strategic decision-making in a competitive industry.

What’s Next With AviaGames

The research initiative with the UCSD Rady School of Management will run through March 2026, and its findings may help inform future strategy for Solitaire Clash and broader portfolio planning. The project reflects AviaGames’ continued focus on thoughtful, player-centered growth while giving MBA students hands-on strategic experience.

Updates will be shared across AviaGames’ official social media channels, with more details coming soon including about, AviaGames GDC 2026, the company’s first official appearance at the Game Developers Conference during its 10th anniversary year.
