Interleukins are signaling molecules involved in the immune system, and they play a variety of roles in different diseases and cancers. Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is the most common type of leukemia in adults, and survival rate after diagnosis is very low. Investigating the role interleukins play in AML can help understand the progression of the disease. There exists a need for more effective treatment of AML. Interleukins can be used to guide immunotherapy for AML. This review article will examine how specific interleukins play a role in AML disease progression and how they can be utilized as a future treatment option.Naturally elevated contents of copper (Cu) and nickel (Ni) are found in soils worldwide, and their potential toxicity is better understood when geochemical reactive fractions are identified and monitored. Thus, this study aimed to assess the bioavailability of Cu and Ni and estimate environmental risks in naturally metal-enriched soils of Carajás Mining Province, Eastern Amazon, Brazil. For that, 58 surficial soil samples were analyzed for their extractable contents of Cu and Ni by Mehlich 1. Next, 13 soil samples were selected for additional single and sequential extractions, for the determination of metal content in the shoots of grasses naturally growing in these soils and for calculating the risk assessment code. Despite the naturally high total concentrations, the contents of easily available Cu and Ni are a minor fraction of total concentrations (up to 10.15%), and the reducible oxide and residual pools hold the major proportion of total content of metals. This contributed to low bioavailability, low environmental risk, and also to low concentrations of these metals on grasses collected in the field. Soil organic matter, Fe2O3, Al2O3 and clay content have a dominant role in metals retention on studied soils. Our findings on the bioavailability of Cu and Ni in a region of great economic relevance for Brazil are important not only for predicting the elements' behavior in the soil-plant system but also for refining risk assessments and to provide useful data for environmental quality monitoring.The small nuclear ribonucleoprotein polypeptides B And B' (SNRPB) is a core component of spliceosome and plays a key role in pre-mRNA splicing. Emerging evidence suggests that it involves in the development of several types of cancer. Our previous study has demonstrated SNRPB is highly expressed in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and functions as an oncogene. However, whether SNRPB contributes to cisplatin resistance in NSCLC is still unknown. In this study, we found that SNRPB negatively regulates cisplatin resistance in NSCLC cells. Knocking out of SNRPB could significantly decrease cisplatin-induced cell growth inhibition, cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in H1299 cells. However, enforced expression of SNRPB in H460 cells can markedly promote cisplatin-induced cell growth inhibition, cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. Our results also indicate that overexpression of SNRPB enhances the inhibitory effects of cisplatin on H460 cell-mediated xenograft tumors. Our results suggest that SNRPB may be a prediction marker for NSCLC patients in response to cisplatin-based chemotherapy.While the implementation of digital technology in psychiatry appears promising, there is an urgent need to address the implications of the absence of ethical design in the early development of such technologies. Some authors have noted the gap between technology development and ethical analysis and have called for an upstream examination of the ethical issues raised by digital technologies. In this paper, we address this suggestion, particularly in relation to digital healthcare technologies for patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders. The introduction of digital technologies in psychiatry offers a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment options tailored to the health needs and goals of patients' care. These technologies include wearable devices, smartphone applications for high-immersive virtual realities, smart homes, telepsychiatry and messaging systems for patients in rural areas. The availability of these technologies could increase access to mental health services and improve the diagnostics oakers, software developers, patients themselves and their proxies. Additionally, we need to develop frameworks for furthering sustainable development in the digital technologies industry and for the responsible usage of such technologies for patients with schizophrenia in the clinical setting. We suggest that digital technology in psychiatry, particularly for schizophrenia and other serious mental health disorders, should be integrated into treatment with professional supervision rather than as a self-treatment tool.This paper uses structural analogies to competing political philosophies of human society as a heuristic tool to differentiate between ecological theories and to bring out new aspects of apparently well-known classics of ecological scholarship. These two different areas of knowledge have in common that their objects are 'societies', i.e. units composed of individuals, and that contradictory and competing theories about these supra-individual units exist. The benefit of discussing ecological theories in terms of their analogies to political philosophies, in this case liberalism, democratism and conservatism, consists in the fact that political philosophies show clear differences and particularities as regards their approach to the concepts of individuality and intentional action. The method therefore helps to expose peculiarities of ecological theories that are usually considered canonical (e.g. Clements, Gleason), as well as hybrid forms (E. P. Odum), and to differentiate between two different types of theories about functional wholes. click here The basis of this method is the constitutional-theoretical premise that modern paradigms of socialization structure the ecological discourse.In this paper, I discuss the neo-Aristotelian approaches, which usually reinterpret Aristotle's ideas on form and/or borrow the notion of formal cause without engaging with the broader implications of Aristotle's metaphysics. In opposition to these approaches, I claim that biosemiotics can propose an alternative view on life's form. Specifically, I examine the proposals to replace the formal cause with gene-centrism, functionalism, and structuralism. After critically addressing these approaches, I discuss the problems of reconciling Aristotelianism with the modern view of life's organization. I claim that the notion of the final cause proposes a cosmological hierarchy and that this is the main problem with applying the formal cause to biology. An alternative categorization of conceptualizing life's form involves (1) the processual identity, (2) relational property clusters, and (3) context-dependent transmission of representational units. The third category points to a semiotic basis of the form of life. In this context, I offer to readjust the focus of the problem of matter-form duality by pointing out that form is primarily an issue of the subject-object relation.click here
