When I first started building my website, I had no big budget, no team of developers, and honestly—no clear roadmap. I only had one goal:
👉 Create useful content that actually helps people.
At the beginning, traffic was close to zero. Search Console looked depressing. But instead of chasing shortcuts, I focused on a few simple things that slowly started to work.
🔹 1. Writing for Humans, Not Just Search Engines
I stopped stuffing keywords and started explaining things like I would to a friend.
Clear language, real examples, and practical solutions made a huge difference in how people engaged with the content.
🔹 2. Consistency Beats Perfection
Some articles were not perfect. Some headlines could be better.
But publishing consistently helped Google understand that the site is active and reliable.
🔹 3. Fixing Technical Basics Early
Simple things like:
- Proper sitemap
- Clean URLs
- Fast loading pages
played a big role in getting indexed faster.
🔹 4. Learning from the Community
Platforms like dev.to helped me understand how other builders solve real problems. Reading honest experiences here motivated me to keep going.
Over time, I started documenting what I was learning—SEO fixes, WordPress tweaks, monetization basics, and content strategies—on my own site as well.

I’m still learning every day, but that’s the fun part of building in public.
Would love to hear:
- What worked for you when you were starting out?
- Any mistakes you wish you had avoided early?
Let’s learn from each other 🚀
