🚀 Building Space: a calm Angular UI for an LLM (with stars)

🪐 Building an LLM Called Space

Lately, I’ve been working on an LLM called Space.

Not space as in rockets and physics.

More like quiet, dark, floating, breathe space.

The idea is simple:

A calm place to talk when your mind feels noisy.

🌌 Why Space?

A lot of tools want you to be productive.

Space wants you to be present.

No dashboards screaming at you.

No “optimize your feelings” energy.

Just you…

and stars slowly passing by.

Yes the entire app has an MP4 of stars drifting in the background, because if you’re going to overthink, you might as well do it in deep space 🌠

🧩 The Frontend

I’m finishing up the frontend in Angular, and instead of typical “AI features” like code review or text summarization, I leaned into something more emotional.

Some of the components so far:

🌱 Template Modal

Gentle Reflection

Help me put what’s on my mind into words

Emotional Check In

Help me understand how I’m feeling right now

Grounding Moment

Help me slow down and feel present

Self Compassion

Help me talk to myself more kindly

Each template is less of a command

and more of an invitation to pause.

🎙 Voice Input

(because typing is sometimes too much)

There’s a voice input modal that opens when you click the mic:

  • A calm message: “Click the microphone to start speaking”

  • A live transcript area: “What you say appears here…”

  • A Stop button

  • A Use Transcript button

Because sometimes you don’t want to “prompt” an AI you just want to talk.

📎 File Upload (still cooking 👀)

File upload is wired up to the point where:

  • You can select files from your device

  • They’re picked up internally

  • Next step is deeper processing

🧠 This Isn’t Therapy

Space isn’t trying to replace therapists or professionals.

It’s more like:

  • a quiet notebook that listens

  • a soft voice when you don’t have one

  • a place to untangle thoughts without being judged

Sometimes people don’t need answers.
They need space.

🌌 Still Building

This is very much a work in progress but it’s one of those projects that feels personal in a good way.

If you’re building tech that:

humanity over hype

And if you’re not… that’s okay too.
You can just float here for a bit 🚀 in deep space
