The headline promises something scary. What you actually get is more interesting: an AI agent that handled the predictable, repeatable parts of a job surprisingly well, then fell apart the moment the work required judgment, relationship management, or anything that didn't fit the training data. The author calls this "surprising." Anyone who's spent real time with agentic systems calls it Tuesday.
The surprise isn't that AI agents fail. It's where they fail. And that gap is the entire business case for what we're building.

OpenClaw, for context, is an AI agent framework that lets you automate complex workflows. Then they tried to have it handle a difficult conversation with a source who'd gone cold. The Uncomfortable Arithmetic

A human who specializes in being the 20% across multiple agents simultaneously isn't a displaced worker. They're running a different business model than their parents did, but the work is real and the payment is real.
