Online multilingual survey consisting of 23 items, between 17 May -15 July of 2019 targeting the opinions and practices of ICTs regarding the 2018-2019 influenza season was employed. Participants were reached via European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) and European Union Certificate for Infection Control (EUCIC) newsletters, social media, and national societies. In total, 899 participants from 56 countries responded to the survey. The overall vaccination rate was 76%, being the highest in Finland, Portugal, Norway, and Israel (100%), whereas the lowest in Italy (68%) and Turkey (39%). Influenza vaccination rate was 86% among IC physicians and 52% among IC nurses. The most significant factors affecting participants' decision were personal influenza vaccine experience (49%) and attitude of the scientific authorities (48%). In multivariate analysis, vaccination of the ICT head (OR 16.04, 95%CI 8.4-30.8, p less then 0.001) and having free vaccine (OR 7.56, 95%CI 2.1-27.4, p = 0.02) were found to be the strongest predictors for influenza vaccination, whereas working in Turkey (OR 0.41, 95%CI 0.22-0.77, p = 0.006) and being an IC nurse (OR0.43, 95%CI 0.24-0.80, p = 0.007) were significantly associated with not having been vaccinated. In conclusion, COVID-19 pandemic increased the importance of protection against respiratory viruses including influenza. Vaccination strategies should have a special emphasis on IC nurses, who have a relatively lower vaccination rate, should enhance the vaccination of the ICT leaders, and put effort to provide free availability of the influenza vaccine.COVID-19 is the emerging health emergency ruining the well being of individuals and devastating the global economies. Sustained research focusing on the virus has been on throughout the world. However, no definitive remedies have yet been derived in the containment of the virus. Steady knowledge on the pathogenesis of the virus has revealed certain consistent features specific to the disease which includes massive destruction of the lung due to the presence of excessive angiotensin-converting enzyme receptors (ACE2) which are essential for the viral entry inside the host. Once, access is gained multiplication occurs resulting in suppressing the immune response of the body against the virus. Henceforth, the equilibrium of the host is disrupted leading to manifestation of the disease. The Periodontal pocket also presents with pathology very much similar to COVID-19 and a possibility of dual role can be thought of pertaining to aspects of Periodontal Medicine. The context of the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the structural inequalities and vulnerabilities experienced by black communities in the world, and in Brazil it is no different. The data generated in Brazil demonstrate that Brazilian inequality is alarming. Underreporting, non-prioritization of data that consider the variable race and color, and social groups in social vulnerability, help the unequal instrumentalization of epidemiological surveillance; many deaths from the black population are not being accounted for. Structural racism and the invisibility of the black population have been intensified with the pandemic. There is emerging evidence that COVID-19 may disproportionately affect black people, who in addition to the vulnerability resulting from socio-spatial conditions, appear to be more susceptible to contamination with a more serious and lethal outcome. Finally, biological differences, such as impaired functioning of the immune response, can be increased by structural racism. In this sense, we reinforce that possible relationships between social and biological vulnerabilities of black communities and the SARS-CoV-2 infection pandemic need to be considered and investigated.
This study represents a second part of a recently published study about a new form of evaluation and development of rare genetic neurodegenerative diseases. The objective is to provide a more global vision of thermography with respect to the Emery-Dreifuss pathology, through the analysis of the data collection carried out for one year. The basic hypothesis is that thermography could become a valid tool for the diagnosis and follow-up of this pathology because is a very specific tool for registering temperature changes produced by a constant degenerative evolution of this muscular dystrophy.

Moreover, the heavy metals in the generated sludge can easily be dissolved back into solution. Anlotinib In this research, a novel strategy developed by coupling green rust adsorption and ferrite formation technology was proposed for Cu(II)-EDTA chelate removal. At the adsorption stage, green rust sulfate (GRME(SO42-)) showed a high adsorption efficiency of chelated copper, with a capacity of 126.41 mg g-1, compared to other classical adsorbents. During the ferrite formation stage, GRME(SO42-)-based precipitate with high moisture content and slow settling rate could be transformed into ferrite-based precipitate with low moisture content and rapid settling rate. The volume and moisture content of ferrite were 2.20 and 1.45 times lower than those of GRME(SO42-) and the sedimentation velocity of ferrite was also 1.23 times higher than that of GRME(SO42-), which strongly demonstrated the necessity of the ferrite formation process.Anlotinib
