Introducing...Mr. Query Selector!
When you want to interact with an element on a web page using JavaScript, you first need to find and select that element.
That's where the querySelector method comes to the rescue!
querySelector allows you to find an element using a CSS selector, just like how you would style it in a stylesheet. It will search through the whole document and return the first element that matches the selector you passed it.
Let's look at a quick example:
const elem = document.querySelector('p');
This will find and return the first <p> element on the page. Pretty handy!
The selector you pass to querySelector can match by element type, class, id, or anything else that CSS supports.
Now that we know the basics of using querySelector, let's explore some common use cases.
Finding Elements by Type
To find elements by their HTML tag name, pass the element name into querySelector:
const elems = document.querySelector('div');
This will grab the first <div> on the page.
You can also select multiple elements of the same type using querySelectorAll:

For example, to find all visited links:

And form elements that are checked/selected:
