Beyond Using AI: What the Future Really Demands

When we talk about the future of the workforce, the expansion of artificial intelligence across industries, and the risk of certain jobs disappearing, a common conclusion emerges: the key skills of the future will no longer be programming, design, or similar technical abilities, but rather the ability to work with AI.

However, this perspective may reflect the current limitations of AI more than it predicts the reality of the future. As these systems rapidly evolve and compete to deliver the best possible outcomes through the simplest user interactions, the skill of using AI will likely become universal—much like reading and writing, which are now taken for granted by most people.

If the challenge of the future is neither purely technical expertise nor even the ability to use AI, then a deeper question arises: what skill will the future truly be built upon?

Answering this question is not simple. The pace of global change is faster than our capacity to fully analyze it, and the complexity of influencing factors is so vast that we cannot consider all variables at once. For this reason, our understanding of the future will likely continue to evolve over time.

Still, the most important skill of the future may not be problem-solving, but rather the ability to identify which problems are worth solving. In a world where technical solutions, execution, and even discovering answers become faster, cheaper, and more accessible, the defining question will be:

Which problems truly matter?
Which challenges create the greatest value, solve meaningful issues for larger communities, and leave a lasting impact on human life?
