This is more of a rant than an article. I was going to wrap my PWA app into an Android bundle to release it on Google Play the other day when I got hit by this, let's call it restriction, in the Google Play console.
Apparently, I have to get 12 people from somewhere, who must have my app installed on their devices for 14 days, and open it at least once within this period, before I can even think of publishing it.
Well, I can't find 12 people with Android around me. And even if I do, they'd need to waste their time with me in order to have this done. This is just stupid. And what does it help with exactly? I noticed there are subreddits to find "testers" and even online services where one can pay to get 12 "testers". This is so ridiculous. I used to rage against Apple for the $100 a year developer fee, but what Google did is even worse.
I don't know. What do you people think?
