From suicidal burnout to building Ruvo: reclaiming focus in the algorithmic age

Hello everyone,
I’m Ruairi, co-founder of Ruvo; an app that filters out algorithmic junk from your feeds so you only see what truly matters.
I started building Ruvo after hitting digital burnout myself. Doom-scrolling, endless news, and targeted ads had turned my feed into pure noise. During one of the lowest points in my life, I realized how much it was quietly eroding my focus, mental health, and even my sense of direction.
Ruvo was born from that moment; a tool designed to help people reclaim their attention. It filters your online content through AI-powered interest mapping, so instead of being fed what keeps you scrolling, you see what actually aligns with your mind, goals, and wellbeing.
We need to start asking tougher questions:
• How are algorithms quietly shaping our mental health and attention?
• Why is polarization rewarded as the ultimate engagement trap?
• When did protecting our attention stop being part of self-care?
It’s time we take our online activity more seriously; and challenge the systems quietly dictating what we see, think, and feel.
If this resonates with you, I’d love your thoughts or feedback on Ruvo. You can learn more or join the early access list at www.ruvoweb.com.
