Your First Job is Just a Portfolio Away – Make it Linear, Client-Friendly, and Unforgettable!

Your portfolio is the first thing clients and employers see. It needs to look good, work well, and show off your skills clearly. A simple, clean, and client-friendly website can make all the difference.

Most clients are busy (and even if they aren’t), they don’t like extra effort. They want everything clear and easy to see with just a scroll. If they have to click multiple times to check something, they probably won’t bother. And if the hero section doesn’t grab their attention or show something valuable, they won’t even scroll down.

Animations can look nice, but they’re often slow and take time to load. If the client has a weak internet connection—like being on an island—they might not load at all, making the website look broken. A portfolio should not only load quickly but also stay simple and clean. Too many flashy motions can even make people feel overwhelmed.

After lots of trial and error, I’ve designed a portfolio based on client feedback and what works best. I think you’ll like it too.
