I Classified the Soft Skills I've Posted So Far

Summary

  • Categorizing 40 past articles on soft skills
    • The classification relied on multiple AI models
  • Have a look! I hope you'll encounter skills or techniques that could change something for you.

Introduction

As a [Soft Skills Engineer], I have written 40 articles as of 2025-12-07. I've developed and delivered new soft skills like task management and ideation techniques, and of course, introduced tools (soft techniques) to support the implementation of existing soft skills such as communication and management.

Since I've accumulated quite a number of articles, I decided to categorize them. Following Asking n People (n Generative AI Models) Simultaneously - DEV Community, I had multiple AI models organize them. Note that any additional notes by the author are marked with 🐰.

Do take a look. I hope you find skills or techniques that spark a transformation in you.

======== gpt-4.1 ========

Communication & Collaboration

Task & Self-Management

🐰Dry Behavior is actually related to communication, so it's categorized incorrectly.

Self-Development & Thinking Methods

🐰Knowledging is an original concept I developed, similar to Soft Skills Engineering. As a category, I'd rather place it under knowledge management. Also, while Newest Literally and Experiencity apply to individuals, they are particularly useful in team settings, so they might better fit collaboration.

Roles & Organization Design/Leadership

🐰I'd rather categorize Full-Four under diversity and well-being. Also, I'd like to create a separate category for Soft Skills Engineering itself—perhaps "Meta Soft Skills."

Diversity, Well-being & Ethics

======== gpt-5 ========

Asynchronous Communication & Meeting Design

🐰MAMA isn't about asynchronous communication; while it's about meeting design, the merging of asynchronous communication and meeting design into one category is unclear.

Task Design, Self-Management & Introspection

Knowledging, Broadcasting & Generative AI Use

🐰It's intriguing to see Knowledging and generative AI use in the same category. Actually, Knowledging involves dealing with concepts through language, while generative AI use deals with natural language, so they are similar in nature.

Organization Building, Leadership & Culture

Work Styles, Environment Design & Safety

======== gpt-5.1 ========

1. Personal Productivity & Self-Management

2. Communication Design & Dialogue Facilitation

🐰On Engineers Having to Do Emotional Labor is, by premise, a poem meant for #discuss, so categorizing it might be a mistake.

3. Knowledge Sharing & Document/Information Design

🐰Retreat seems to be a miscategorization.

4. Work Styles, Organization Design & Collaboration

🐰Once again, I feel the need to have Soft Skills Engineering as its own category.

5. Collaboration with Generative AI & Meta Skills

🐰Perhaps Generative AI can also be considered a kind of soft skill in its own right.

======== o1 ========

Category 1: Communication & Collaboration

Category 2: Productivity & Task Management

Category 3: Leadership & Organizational Culture

Category 4: Self-awareness & Emotional Intelligence

🐰I'm unsure why Full Mask is in this category. However, since it's a coined term and offers no more information than its title, perhaps there's no helping it. Likely the word Mask invoked the idea of hiding one's true feelings, which isn't entirely wrong.

Category 5: Soft Skills & Next-Generation Approaches

🐰The notion of next-generation approaches is fascinating, but Soft Skills Engineering and Knowledging are both next-gen approaches. Simply being labeled "next-gen" doesn't offer much information, and too many new things can intimidate readers. That's why I want to place them under existing categories.

======== Up to Here ========

That's it. How was it? I hope you found something interesting!

Following this, here is a little bonus.

Prompt Used for This Attempt

markdown
    - (2025-12-07): [Rapid Q&A](https://dev.to/stakiran/rapid-qa-c83)
    ... (This corresponds to the contents of the Markdown draft on https://stakiran.github.io/knowledging/index_devto.html) ...
    - (2025-11-19): [What is Knowledging?](https://dev.to/stakiran/what-is-knowledging-2229)

    ```
Above is the list of my blog articles.
I advocate for Soft Skills Engineering and have been posting articles related to soft skills. Hence, I'd like to categorize the above list of articles by main soft skills.
1. Propose 5 categories of soft skills based on the above article list.
2. List up to 5 representative articles for each of the proposed 5 categories.
The format is as follows:
    ```

    ## Category 1
    - [Article 1-1](url)
    - [Article 1-2](url)
    - [Article 1-3](url)
    - ...

    ## Category 2
    ...

Learnings and Reflections from This Attempt

  • Article titles alone lack context, so it may be better to provide some content from the articles.
  • Soft Skills Engineering and Knowledging are new concepts, so their context should be provided separately.
  • It might be more effective for me to define the soft skills categories and then have them classified according to those definitions.
