ChatGPT Projects Allows Sharing of Chat Sessions
In October 2025, a feature for sharing projects was added to ChatGPT Projects.
Take a look at the following:

Shared projects allow multiple people to participate in this Project. In other words, anyone can start a chat session and view others' sessions.
About "Sharing Chat Sessions"
We usually communicate using tools like Slack or Teams. The genre known as business chat is supported by the functionality of "spaces" or "channels." The revolutionary concept of creating rooms where only stakeholders are gathered, allowing everyone to freely post and view, was groundbreaking.
Now, this trend is reaching AI-generated chat as well, with ChatGPT Projects being one example.
For Quiet and Extensive Communication
When you think of conversation, there's a strong image of face-to-face, verbal communication. While this method is convenient and can be used broadly, it is primitive and spontaneous, which is not preferable for engineers, at least.
That's where indirect conversation comes into play. Indirect conversation is communicating by showing each other linguistically expressed outcomes. Here are some examples:
- Code
- Needless to say, if you're an engineer
- Presentation Snippets
- My own coined term referring to materials organized on a "single page" like a one-page document, a single slide, or a page not requiring scrolling
- In many companies, especially for proposals, you may be instructed to use a format based on presentation snippets
- Chat Sessions
- Originally, ChatGPT had a function to share sessions
ChatGPT Projects is the new addition here.
-
Dialogue Workspace
- A workspace where chat sessions with AI can be shared among multiple people. An example is ChatGPT Projects.
Examples of Using Dialogue Workspace
Let's say you want to have a difficult technical discussion.
An inexperienced engineering manager would probably only discuss it with their peers or senior colleagues. In contrast, an experienced manager would also talk with those on the ground and customers.
However, conversations with the frontline or customers are challenging. They often do not have the same overview as a manager, nor the capability or time to articulate their thoughts. That's why processes like domain-driven design and recent agile methodologies have emphasized embedding into projects for intensive dialogue and extraction.
It's precisely here that dialogue workspaces can be utilized. The approach is simple:
- 1: Create a project with the name of the topic
- 2: Invite the relevant parties to the project
- 3: Each person participates in chat sessions. They can view others' sessions, fork and continue them, or start new sessions from a fresh perspective
In this way, everyone adds more sessions. In a sense, it might be more accurate to call it collaboration rather than communication.
Conclusion
I introduced the concept of indirect conversation. Additionally, ChatGPT Projects now has the potential to facilitate this, thanks to its recent updates.
In an era of AI-generated content, human communication and discussion are more important than ever. There are limits to face-to-face and verbal communication. I encourage you to practice indirect conversation. Until next time.
