So this is more or less random; we could say that as developers—or aspiring developers—who, for the most part, are still in the job market, getting that first job always seems like a mountain too big to scale. Getting involved in various projects or joining a community is probably the only lifeline left to avoid losing all motivation altogether.
As the job market becomes more saturated and people treat software development as both a hobby and a means of earning, the ecosystem seems to be one where we run alongside both experienced professionals and amateurs at the junior level. This means what it means to be a junior developer keeps expanding, making it harder to break into entry-level and junior roles.
One thing developers who want to have a long career in software development must do is stay grounded and contribute to various projects, both paid and unpaid. It’s chaotic at the moment, but we cannot afford to lose motivation.
