It is true that there is some JavaScript required to completely make the keylogger work but the actual logging component is CSS. And moreover the point with that particular example that I was trying to make is that it might not be the JavaScript that you write that results in it, but something from a dependency. This can result in unintended side-effects such as was detected in this report.
