Hacking Know Your Finances (KYF) - Part 0 Setup

Goal

The countless historical record of income and expenses bring zero value to prepare for the future. KYF provides nice visualization insight into how the different upcoming income & expenses can affect you. You can now understand better about your financial health before committing to any financial decision.

What I have done?

  • Setup Public Github Repo with MIT License
  • Deployed an app using DigitalOcean’s App Platform that falls under the Built for Business Category
  • Fill out the form to get a $50 credit for DigitalOcean for this DO
  • Started documenting a series for the DO Hackathon

What I plan to do next?

It's been a while since I spend some focused time on coding. I am going to look for possible tools to speed up my development process. Likely to use the following tools:

  • Tailwind CSS
  • AntDesign
  • Basic WYSIWYG UI Input

How I know about this?

Found out about the DO Hackathon from my friend Kim. Check out what he is building here.

Why am I doing this?

For fun and to get back into more coding during my free time. I have transited to a product manager for my day job for about 2 years. Since then, I can only code in my free time. But as work gets busy, I begin to code lesser and lesser. Found out about the DO Hackathon and therefore I hope to intentionally set aside time to do it.

Thanks for mentioning me.

Just a tip in case you want to use the series feature in DEV.to

You write like this at the very top.

---
series: Building GoGreen on DigitalOcean App Platform Hackathon Series
cover_image: https://dev-to-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/i/tn54kn95003u4gzbbvn8.png
---
Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen mode

Then you should be able to create a series.

Drag and drop the image and you should produce a url.

This sounds like an interesting app and something I could really use. I look forward to seeing more as you submit it in the challenge. I completed my entry in the #dohackathon yesterday. If you get a chance take a look at it and let me know what you think. Good luck in the challenge.
