Hire when:

  • You have stable, long-term ML infrastructure work (not feature development)

Use an AI-first team when:

  • You need to start shipping AI features in weeks, not months
  • Your ML needs are feature-driven (RAG, agents, integrations, inference pipelines)
  • Your roadmap is evolving, and you need flexibility to scale the team up or down
  • The opportunity cost of a 6-month hiring cycle is unacceptable

The Engineering Question Worth Asking
