What I Got Wrong
Shipping was the easy part. Getting the first paying customer? Still working on it.
I optimized for product quality when I should have optimized for distribution. Every week I spent making the AI smarter was a week I did not spend finding the people who needed it.
SEO takes longer than you think. We are six months in and organic traffic is still a trickle. The content strategy is right — but Google is slow. Very slow.
Narrowing down is counterintuitive but necessary. Six products sounds impressive. It is also six times the marketing surface area, six times the support, six different customer profiles. If I started again: one product, one market, obsessive focus.
What Actually Worked
AI-first architecture. Every product has AI at its core — not as a feature but as the product. This keeps costs low (no human coaches, no human therapists) and scales infinitely.
Niche targeting. Swiss/DACH market for the career tools, English-speaking pet owners for MPT — specific audiences are easier to reach than general ones.
Building in public (sort of). Writing about the process has brought more traffic than any ad campaign.
The Number That Keeps Me Going
Zero paying customers so far. But 847 free registrations across all six products. These are real people with real problems. The product-market fit signal is there. The conversion funnel is the work.
What is Next
Single-minded focus on jobwechsel-ki.ch — the Swiss job application market is underserved and the pain point (rejected applications, ATS filtering) is acute and well-understood.
